“The Voice” opened season 16 with a new coach and a new batch of blind auditions.
EGOT winner – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards – John Legend joins original judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and two time “The Voice”winner Kelly Clarkson in the big red chairs.
The block returns this season with each coach getting just one block during the blind auditions. On the first episode Kelly and Blake used their block on new coach John Legend. And on the second episode, Adam used his block on John with the first singer. All of the blocks are gone after John used his to block Adam.
For the first time in “The Voice” history, all three coaches used their block on the same person.
Season 16 also brought a first to “The Voice” stage. While there have been a few duos to audition and The Swon Brothers made it all the way to the finals; this was the first trio to take the stage – two sisters and a brother.
The Comeback Stage returns with Bebe Rexha as the fifth coach.
