While the NASCAR teams are busy building cars and preparing for the new season, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship gets the 2019 racing season started with a three day event with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 At Daytona on the high banks of the Daytona International Speedway.

After it was announced that 47 drivers would be participating in the even, 150 drivers have gathered at the two and a half mile track to help IMSA kick of their 50th anniversary of racing.

“The Roar” will also be the first race with Michelin Tires as the “Oficial Tire of IMSA”.

On track events begin at 11am on January 5. The weekend will also include qualifying sessions of each class for garage and pt lane assignments for the 2019 racing season and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge test sessions.

IMSA begins their 2019 racing season in Daytona with the BMW Endurance Challenge on January 25 with the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona following on January 26. NASCAR kicks off their season in February with Speedweeks.
