In post race inspection after the races at Richmond Raceway last weekend, two top rated playoff teams were assessed penalties due to lug nut violations.

The number 18 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Kyle Busch was charged with having one of his lug nuts improperly secured. As a result of the infraction, crew chief Adam Stevens was fined $10,000. Kyle Busch won the Federated Auto Parts 400.

In similar fashion, the Xfinity Series race winner Christopher Bell, who also drives for Joe Gibbs Racing, had one of the lug nuts on his number 20 car improperly secured. Crew chief Jason Ratcliff was fined $5,000 for the infraction.
