The suspension of Carson Hocevar by Spire Motorsports isn’t the only penalty that was assessed this week.
After the race at Martinsville, NASCAR has taken action against three drivers and teams.
After brake checking drivers during the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Carson Hocevar and Josh Berry were both docked 25 points with Hocevar being fined $100,000 and Berry was fined $50,000 for violating Sections 4.4a of the NASCAR Rule Book: Penalty Options; Actions detrimental to stock car racing.
After Ryan Preece was held two laps on pit road during the race when his wheel came off the car; NASCAR has added to the penalty of suspending jackman Samuel Wright and rear tire changer James Price for two races in violation of Sections 8.8.10.4 A&D: Tires and Wheels, Safety Violations, for the loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle in the NASCAR Rule book. Since the race at Homestead-Miami is the final race of the season, the penalty will extend into the first race of the 2027 season.
