The revival of the musical “Spring Awakening” is set to open on Off-Broadway in December and even before the show gives its first performance, the show has been extended.

Originally set to open at Studio Seaview to previews on November 27 with an official opening on December 17 and run through February 14.  But with the extension, the show is set to run to April 4.

Adapted from the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind; “”Spring Awakening’ follows a group of German adolescents in the late 19th century as they explore their own sexuality against the backdrop of a deeply repressive world, an angst.”

“Spring Awakening” made its debut on Off-Broadway in 2006 and later that year made its Broadway debut.  It made a return to Broadway in 2015 with a cast of hearing and actors from the California’s Deaf West Theatre.
