It has been less than two months since the release of the latest Spider-Man film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hit theaters and has been setting new records the entire time.
With a North American box office draw of $936.773 “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” now holds the record for the All-Time highest-grossing film.
After just 47 days in theatres, “Brand New Day” has beat out the “Star Wars” film “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” which topped out at $936.6 million in 2015 after a long absence in the “Star Wars” franchise.
Other accomplishments by Spidey and his film:
-the fastest feature film to hit $400 million and on up to $900 million
-became the highest grossing film in its first week in theatres
-is the fastest film to reach $1 billion globally
-ranks number three on the all-time global box office chart (behind “Avatar” and “Avengers: Endgame”
-and has helped to make this summer the highest-grossing summer in global box office history with of $4.765 billion
Last weekend was the first time in seven weeks that Spider-Man did not top the list at the box office.
