A fan of Jazz???

Love Dave Brubeck and Tony Bennett????

Now is your chance to own a piece of their life with a Jazz Legends Auction by Julien’s Auction in Los Angeles September 17 & 18.

Combined, there will be nearly 400 pieces of personal items and artworks up for auction.  Many people know of Tony Bennett’s musical talent, but the entertainer was also an artist; some of those works will be included in the auction.

The Library of Congress has labeled Dave Brubeck as a “Living Legend”. A devotee of classical and jazz music; Brubeck was known for his penchant of polyrhythms, polytonality, improvisations, and unusual time signatures.  His “Time Out” album which included the piece “Take Five” was the first Jazz album to sell over one million copies. His musical career spanned over six decades.

Frank Sinatra called him “the best singer in the business”; Tony Bennett’s career spanned over 70 albums and 20 Grammy Awards.  His duet with Lady Gaga at age 88 made him the oldest artist to chart on the Billboard 200 chart.

A legendary musical artist, Bennett spent part of every day in his art studio in oils, watercolors, charcoal, and pencil.  Included in the auction is a watercolor-and-pencil self-portrait with Lady Gaga.
