The musical “Moulin Rouge!” gave its final performance on Sunday (Aug 30) and finished the run at the top with a draw at the box office of over $2 million!

“Hamilton” was the only other production to bring in over $2 million at the box office last week.

The return of Tom Felton ass Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” after a planned holiday helped to put the play in the top five.

With just 26 shows running last week, the Broadway box office brought in just $25.75 million; up nearly four percent from last week.

While the upcoming holiday weekend will no doubt give Broadway a boost, it also marks the beginning of school for the remainder of the country.  It will also mean the beginning of the two week “Broadway Week” where theatre fans can get a buy-one-get-one-free deal to many of the shows.

And the new Broadway season is on the horizon with a whole new group of shows to wow and amaze.

There were just eight shows in the Million Dollar Club last week with the top two reaching the $2 Million mark.

The Million Dollar Club:
“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” – $2.34 million
“Hamilton” – $2.01 million
“MJ The Musical”
“The Lion King”
