Currently driving the number 26 car for Sam Hunt Racing, Dean Thompson has announced that he will be joining the Haas Factory Team beginning next season.
The Haas Factory Team is expanding their program next season from two to three cars next year in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Thompson will be joining Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed drive at the Haas Factory Team.
HFT stated that Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation will serve as Thompson’s primary partners throughout the 2027 season.
Thompson spoke on joining Haas via team release saying, “I’m thrilled to join Haas Factory Team as the next step in my NASCAR journey. I am looking forward to competing for wins and a championship with support from MCM Transportation and Thompson Pipe Group.”
Thompson’s car number and crew will be announced at a later date.
President of Haas Factory Team Joe Custer spoke on Thompson joining the team saying, “we’re excited to welcome Dean to Haas Factory Team. He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and we believe he will compete at the highest level. Along with our growing affiliate program, the addition of a third full-time entry continues to strengthen our organization.”
Prior to driving in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, Dean Thompson raced in the Craftsman Truck Series.
