After a couple of slow weeks at the Broadway box office, things have been picking up; especially with a few more shows scheduled to close this month.

“Cats: The Jellicle Ball” is scheduled to close on August 8 and fans have been packing the house to catch the show before it is gone.

With a box office draw of $1.41 million last week, “Cats” entered the top 10 for the first time.

“Ragtime” is also setting records at the box office before it ends its run on August 16.  Last week, the show just missed the $2 million club with $1.9 million.

“Hamilton” and “Death of a Salesman” did make it into the $2 Million Club to top the list.

Overall, Broadway brought in $33.89 million at the box office from the 29 shows that ran.

Joe Turner’s “Come and Gone” closed on July 26.

Fourteen of the 29 shows running made it into the Million Dollar Club last week with the top three earning $2 Million Club honours.
