One song????
My problem is there are lots of songs stuck up there in my head!
There is always music playing in my home. I have an ipod in the bedroom on shuffle that never goes off.
I have over 1,000 songs on my phone that get played when I take a shower, sometimes outside, and just whenever I want to listen to tunes.
And then there are the songs that I am trying to learn how to play.
There is no way to pick just one. There are any number of songs that could start running through my head at any given time…and sometimes they stay there for a few days and run on repeat and I can’t get them out of my head!
The worst is when somehow a song gets stuck up there that I don’t even like!!! How in the world does that happen???? Those are the ones that never seem to go away.
My earliest memories of music are the pieces my dad played on the piano. Some of them I don’t even know the names of, but I definitely recognize them when I hear them. One of my dad’s favourites was “Claire de Lune” by Claude Debussy. And now there is a commercial on TV that uses the song. I will be hearing that song…or at least pieces of it…until the day I die!
A while back I got a press kit about a re-release of music from Sting. It had a promo copy of the album and I listened to a bit of it, but the song that got stuck in my head was one I didn’t even listen to. I have NO idea how the chorus from “Seven Days” got stuck up there…and stayed for DAYS! I had the chorus running through my head and wasn’t even sure what the song was or even who had done it. Once I figured out who sang it – it eventually came to me – then I could get the name of the song. I really like that song too. Good thing with the way it was running through my head.
I’m waiting for the day when a bunch of the songs in my head get together and decide to mash-up and come out in one big lump! Can you imagine some Floyd, Daryl Hall, Barry Manilow, Kenny Loggins, some Bluegrass, and Classical music all mixed up together?????
