With “Cats: The Jellicle Ball”, “Every Brilliant Thing”, and “Death of a Salesman” all set to close next week; Broadway saw some significant increases at the box office this past week with “Ragtime” and “Cats: The Jellicle Ball” earning their highest box office receipts yet.
Set to close on August 16, “Ragtime” brought in the highest numbers in the history of the Lincoln Center Theatre at over $1.5 million.
Joe Turner’s “Come and Gone” had its final shows last week and brought over $1 million at the box office.
A total of 15 of the 30 shows that ran last week made it into the Million Dollar Club with the top three topping $2 and the remainder of the top five coming close to that $2 million mark.
