In a rare event NASCAR has next weekend off as TNT Sports hands off the remainder of the 2026 NASCAR season to USA Sports for the final races of the season.

Last weekend was a triple header event across two tracks.

The Cup Series saw history made when a young rookie driver earned his second win in 15 starts – a feat not done since AJ Foyt in 1965 – when Corey Heim won the race on a track he had never driven on before the practice session on Friday.  Heim also took the checkered flag at the race on the Naval Base in Coronado.

Todd Gilliland won the million dollar In-Series Challenge after Ryan Blaney was wrecked on the track.

With his fifth place finish, Denny Hamlin holds on to the points lead by 84 points over Tyler Reddick.

Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, and Ty Gibbs have all secured spots in the upcoming playoffs.

Dale Earnhardt’s JR Motorsports drivers made a little history of their own when his cars finished 1-2-3-4 in the Penzoil 250 on Saturday afternoon with rookie Carson Kvapil won the race.  In the post race interview, Junior was very emotional about his driver of the number one car.

Justin Allgaier continues to dominate the point standings with a 265 point lead on Carson Kvapil.
