While citizens in the United States have been preparing to celebrate a bigger Independence Day holiday this weekend with the 250th birthday of the nation; Canadians were celebrating their Independence with Canada Day on July 1.
Canadian rocker Bryan Adams marked the occasion with the release of a new song – “51st State”!
Speaking on the song, Adams said, “I wanted to write something about Canada because Canada is home. There is more that binds us than divides us. This is a tribute to the pride and spirit of my fellow Canadians – the rest is just noise.”
The song is also a “tongue in cheek” response after the president of the United States demanded that Canada become the 51st state of the U.S.
