The Great American State Fair began on June 24 with a big “rally” featuring the White House resident.

And the reviews are in…

Alexis Wikins calls herself a country music singer; but she is far better known as the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel.

Wilkins opened the festivities on the National Mall Wednesday night by singing the National Anthem.

One critic wanted to make a report to the police that a “murder” was committed on the “Star Spangled Banner”.  Other remarks included, “you can hear a better rendition at any high school ball game”, “they didn’t allow the autotune this time?”, and “the good news is that it’s 11 pm when I’m seeing this and I’ve already taken my hearing aids out for the night”.

After one critic sarcastically wondered how she got the gig; Wilkins took to social media to address the issue saying, “let’s just get a few things straight, because this is long overdue.  I have been a country music artist for years now…I was invited to sing this anthem on my own accord, as I have been many other places throughout my career.”  She added that she was not being paid for the performance.

Reuters news service noted that a majority of those who attended the event were attired in clothing that supported the current White House.

The events on the National Mall sponsored by the White House created Freedom250 is not the only musical festivities planned for the 250th birthday celebration of the United States.

Sponsored by the Congress created America250, in Los Angeles is America’s Block Party at the Memorial Coliseum hosted by Queen Latifah and includes performances from Country music star Chris Stapleton and rockers the Smashing Pumpkins.

Tickets for the America’s Block Party are just $17.76 in honour of the year the United States was founded.  Proceeds from the event will go to Feeding America.  Five-thousand tickets are being donated to first responders, veterans and active-duty service members.

The event is being described as “Live Aid on steroids”.

New York City, Milwaukee, Charleston, South Carolina, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky have all planned outdoor events.
