During the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway last Sunday, Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell got into a wreck that resulted in a hard hit into the wall. A hit that resulted in a 20 minute red flag to repair the wall.
Bell and Elliott climbed out of their cars and walked to the ambulance for the ride to the infield care center (mandatory for all drivers who are involved in on track incidents and cannot drive the car due to damage.
Chase Elliott exited the care center and reported he was fine and took responsibility for the wreck.
Some time later, Christopher Bell also left the care center but requested no interviews.
Bell’s car owner Joe Gibbs Racing later reported that Bell had suffered wrist and ankle injuries but gave no further details.
It has since been reported that Christopher Bell fractured his left wrist in the crash. However, he has been cleared to race at Pocono this weekend in the number 20 car.
There has been no further information about the ankle.
