While much of the media is swooning over the upcoming events in Washington, D.C.; Broadway is preparing to celebrate Juneteenth with a Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert.

The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway, Black Theatre United, and Building the Change have all come together for the sixth annual event on June 19 in Times Square.

The 90 minute concert will go on rain or shine featuring a cast of actors of colour with Corbin Bleu hosting the event.

A American Sign Language interpreter will be on hand for the event.

While the performers have yet to be named; “Aladdin”, “& Juliet”, “Buena Vista Social Club”, “Cats: The Jellicle Ball”, “The Great Gatsby”, “Hadestown”, “Hamilton”, “Come and Gone”, “The Lost Boys”, “MJ The Musical”, “Moulin Rouge! The Musical”, “Ragtime”, “SIX: The Musical”, “Titanique”, “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)”, and “Wicked” will all be represented at the gala event.  Actors from the upcoming show “Wanted” and the Young Gifted and Broadway kids will also be on hand to perform. 

All artists will be accompanied by live music!

The 2026 Juneteenth Legacy Award this year is being presented to actor, dancer, director, Emmy Award winner, and Kennedy Center Honoree Debbie Allen.

The press notes on Allen state, “through her extraordinary artistry, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation Ms. Allen exemplifies the spirit of the Juneteenth Legacy Award and the lasting influence of a true cultural trailblazer.”

The event will begin at 4pm in Duffy Square (between 46th & 47th streets and 7th Ave & Broadway).
