It has been just 10 weeks since the Tony nominated play “Giant” starring John Lithgow opened on Broadway. And in that time, the play has brought in $5.6 million at the box office; recouping all investments! And only playing seven performances per week.
The play was originally scheduled for a limited 16 week run at the Music Box Theatre.
When the play ran on the West End, it took home three Olivier Awards.
“Giant” tells the story of children’s author Roald Dahl and the prejudice that was prevalent in his works.
In 2023, many of Dahl’s books underwent word alterations to eliminate the negative references.
