The Craftsman Truck Series get the triple header weekend started with the EcoSave 200 at Dover Motor Speedway.
This week 36 teams brought trucks to the Monster Mile for 36 starting spots. Among the lineup this week are Cup Series drivers Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, and Carso Hocevar. Clint Bowyer comes down from the FOX broadcasting booth to drive the Kaulig Racing number 25 “guest truck” this week. And after missing the race last week Dystany Spurlock returns to join fellow female drivers Natalie Decker and Toni Breidinger for the largest female field ever in a race. O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Brandon Jones is driving the number one truck this week.
Dystany Spurlock is the first woman of colour to race in NASCAR. She comes to NASCAR from NHRA motorcycle drag racing.
Kyle Busch is the only driver in the field to win a race in the series. He has four Truck Series wins at Dover and 12 overall.
The drivers get a full 50 minute practice session before making a qualifying run. Five drivers have penalties tied to inspection issues from last week at Watkins Glen. Corey LaJoie, Kaden Honeycutt, Toni Briedinger, Christian Eckes, and Dystany Spurlock will all have their practice times cut a bit short.
NASCAR has treated the track with the traction compound – the “sticky stuff”.
NASCAR has given the teams two sets of tires for practice.
Clint Bowyer is 17th in practice, the top Ram truck driver practice.
Kyle Busch tops the leaderboard near the end of practice in single lap times with a time of 22.446 seconds.
The drivers get a fresh set of tires for qualifying but will have to start the race on the same tires they used to qualify.
The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Dystany Spurlock who posted a time of 23.721 seconds around the one mile concrete track.
Ty Majeski sets a new track record with a qualifying time of 22.285 seconds.
With a time of 22.258, Kyle Busch put his number seven truck on the pole and sets a new track record in the process. Ty Majeski will start alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the one mile track. The drivers can run 80 to 85 laps on a single load of fuel.

Lap eight, Carson Hocevar has already moved up five spots to 13th.
Stewart Friesen had to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck. He has moved up to 29th place.

Lap 24, Kyle Busch has increased his lead to over two seconds on Kaden Honeycutt; Ty Majeski, Gio Ruggiero, and Christopher Bell round out the top five.
Daniel Hemric is falling through the field and works his way slowly down pit road and on to the garage with reports of some sort of mechanical issue.
Carson Hocevar is reporting a possible power steering issue and isn’t sure if he can keep going.
Lap 32, Kyle Busch has a lead of over two seconds on Kaden Honeycutt; Ty Majeski, Christopher Bell, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five. There are 25 trucks on the lead lap.
Lap 36, Kyle Busch continues to extend his lead and is now two and a half seconds out in front and is amid slower traffic.
With seven laps remaining in stage one, Kyle Busch’s lead is up to 2.75 seconds.
The first caution flag of the race comes out when Dystany Spurlock gets into the wall and has significant damage to her truck. She is out of the truck and walking to the ambulance for the mandatory ride to the care center.
Drivers come down pit road for service to flip the end of stage one. Kaden Honeycutt wins the race off of pit road but not all of the drivers came down pit road. Kyle Busch will restart the race back in third.
Cole Butcher brings the field down for the one lap shootout to the end of stage one with Brenden Queen alongside. Butcher takes the lead. Trucks are three and four wide. Kyle Busch gets out in front for the lead and will win stage one for his 36th career stage win.

NASCAR has posted Natalie Decker for not meeting the minimum speed.
Andres Perez got into the wall and has some damage to the truck. The track stayed green.

Carson Hocevar has a flat tire and has to make an unscheduled trip down pit road.
Lap 119, the caution flag comes out when Luke Baldwin gets into the wall. He has to be towed back to the garage.
Drivers come down pit road but leader Ross Chastain stays out on the track.
Kyle Busch and Dawson Sutton make slight contact exiting pit road.
Dawson Sutton was caught speeding on pit road and will restart the race from the back of the longest line.
Kyle Busch has just become the first driver to lead 1,000 laps at a single track.
Ross Chastain brings the field for the green flag restart with Kyle Busch alongside on lap 125. Busch gets out in front from the inside lane but Chastain comes up on the outside to battle for the lead and take the spot.

Brandon Jones gets into the wall but the track stays green.
The caution flag comes out on lap 129 when Mini Tyrrell gets loose and spins out. Tyrrell was on the inside of a three wide battle.

Clint Bowyer brings his number 25 truck down pit road with a tire issue. The crew reports that he is down for the day.
Dawson Sutton was charged with speeding on pit road and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.
With just 13 laps remaining in the race, Kyle Busch has increased his lead to over two seconds on Ty Majeski.
Just nine laps to go, Kyle Busch has a near three second lead on Ty Majeski; Layne Riggs, Kaden Honeycutt, and Christopher Bell round out the top five.
Kyle Busch’s crew chief told him to max save on the fuel; Ty Majeski is closing the gap which is now down to a second and a half.
Kyle Busch takes the white flag with a two and a half second lead.
Kyle Busch wins the race for his second win this season…and his fifth Dover win after leading 147 laps. This is career Truck Series win number 69 for Kyle Busch.
