This week all three NASCAR racing series will take to the road course in central New York known has Watkins Glen International and once again there are some major musical drivers going on the Craftsman Truck Series.

Last week Kyle Busch participated in the race at Texas Motor Speedway but will not be in a truck this weekend; Connor Mosack will take over the driving duties of the number seven truck this week.  NASCAR allows the Cup Series driver to participate in both the Craftsman Truck and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series but limits the number of races they may drive.

Joe Gibbs Racing O’Reilly Auto Parts drivers Brandon Jones and William Sawalich ran in the truck series race at TMS but are being replaced by Adam Andretti and Brent Crews at Watkins Glen.

Spire Motorsports is replacing Daniel Suarez in the truck series race this week with Connor Zilisch.  Zilisch is one of the three Trackhouse Racing drivers competing in the road course race this weekend; along with Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen.

It is not uncommon for team owners to replace regular drivers with “road course ringers” who specialize in the right and left turn racing of a road course.
