What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?
Not sure I can hit five, but at the top of the list…every list…is music!
There is always music playing in my home. It seems to be the one thing that I cannot do without.
I was doing an interview many years ago with a musician and I said that “music is the greatest drug in the world… and best of all, it isn’t bad for you.’ At the time I added that it was free, but with all this streaming going on, that isn’t necessarily so any more.
I have an ipod, it never stops playing in my bedroom.
There is a playlist of over 1,000 songs on my phone.
And there is the nightly obsession on the TV of going to “Daryl’s House”.
I love to read and do so every day. My reading streak is approaching 1,700 days in a row. Wonder how long I can keep it going? 🙂
When the weather is nice (hard to find some days in snow country) I enjoy being able to go outside and sit in my swing. The awning keeps the sun out of my face and it is pleasant to sit outside when the weather is nice. Only problem is the neighbour dog…his owners do not pick up after him and when the wind blows from that direction….’it smells very much bad!”.
Back to the music…I do like to play….more like try to play…my guitar. Trouble is I don’t get to play as much as I would like and it seems that I spend more time trying to relearn something than I do actual playing. And the fact that I want to learn everything all at once doesn’t help.
A little guidance would come in very useful.
And a little more time to spend on playing would come in handy too.
My dad and I have often had the bath discussion. Neither of us would have survived in the days of no bath taking.
I don’t care what the so called experts say, I have to have a shower every day!
And it isn’t one of those military showers either!
I take my phone in the bathroom with me; not because I am afraid of missing a call – the phone seldom rings – but because I turn on the tunes and play music while in the shower. I do dally a bit to enjoy the warm water and sometimes it helps me to work out an article I am working on.
I have had many an idea while in the shower.
I never could understand how someone could go without taking a bath or shower; I always feel better when I get out of the shower.
When you are sick a warm shower and a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup (Jewish penicillin) works wonders!
Some music, a good book, and a warm shower may sound like simple things but they sure do make life a lot more pleasant!
