There are any number of things on my mind at any given moment; choosing one that “pops” into that brain is a difficult task.
Looking through AP News and the Facebook feed earlier, I came across a post about a Bible study in the Oval Office.
Now, trying to connect a few dots…
The First Amendment in the Constitution guarantees a Freedom of Religion – everyone is free to choose the religion they wish to follow, or they can ignore them all.
HOWEVER, there has been quite a push recently to force Christianity on the United States as a nation.
The Department of Defense is holding prayer meetings in the Pentagon!
BUT…
The very SAME people who are having prayer meetings and Bible studies in U.S. FEDERAL buildings have the Gaul to DENY another nation the right to practice their own religion; so much so, to the point that they current administration is throwing out threats to annihilate the entire nation over their choice of administration!
The ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN is a country that runs their nation via Islamic law – a theocracy. That is THEIR choice!
Iran would never have been a problem if others kept their nose out of Iran’s business and worried about their own. My grandma used to say that if you cleaned up around your own back door, you don’t have time to worry about anyone else’s.
The current administration of the United States needs to concentrate on running the United States government and stop sticking their nose into everything but…
It is NOT the business of the U.S. government to tell other countries how to run their country!
It is NOT the business of the U.S. government to take over (hostilely) performing arts centers and demand who can and cannot perform there!
It is NOT the business of the U.S. government to demand how college athletes are managed!
It is NOT the business of the U.S. government to build obnoxious grandiose monuments to stroke an ego the size of the sun!
EVERYONE that is elected to office in the United States has the responsibility to operate the nation for every citizen…NOT just a chosen few! There has been a gross lack of accountability, responsibility, and respectability in the federal government.
I’m not sure how many dots I have connected but the rant is over!
