For this year’s annual All-Star Race, the NASCAR drivers will take on Miles the Monster when it will be held at Dover Motor Speedway in Dover, Delaware on May 17.
Voting for the fan voted driver to make it into the race is now officially open and fans may cast their votes via the official NASCAR page (nascar.com).
Voting ends May 17 at 9am EDT with the winner being announced just before the engines fire at 1pm.
Fans may vote up to five times per day per unique email address (If you are a superfan who has three different email addresses, you can vote up to 15 times each day. 😊). A total of 26 drivers will compete in the All-Star Race this year.
Fans who are members of NASCAR’s Fan Rewards program may use the Fan Rewards Dashboard to cast their first vote and earn 25 points.
Kasey Kahne is the only driver in the history of the All-Star Race to win the fan vote and the race on the same day. In 2008, Kahne started the race in 24th to go from worst to first; capturing the checkered flag.
The format for this year’s All Star Race is a 350 lap main event race that will be divided into segments.
There are no points for the All Star Race…just a $1 million dollar prize!
The All-Star Race will cap off a triple header weekend of racing from the Craftsman Truck and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
The drivers will qualify for the All Star Race on Saturday before the race on Sunday. Qualifying will include two laps where the second lap must make a four tire pit stop with no fuel for the Pit Crew Challenge. The pit crew that service’s the car in the shortest time with no penalties will win the Pit Crew Challenge.
There is no All-Star Open race this year. All of the drivers will be competing in Segment one of the 350 lap race – a 75 laps sprint.
Segment two, – a second 75 laps sprint – the top 26 drivers will be inverted with the remainder of the field lining up according to finish.
The final segment – a 200 lap race – will feature just 26 drivers.

former Cup Series champions who are still competing full time
the Fan Vote winner
and the drivers with the lowest combined finishing order from segments one and two.
