The nominations for the Lucille Lortel nominations have been released with the winner being announced on May 3. The Lucille Lortel Awards honour the productions on Off-Broadway and Off Off-Broadway.
The new musical “Mexodus” leads the way with nine nominations; “Prince Faggot”, “Cold War Choir Practice”, “Saturday Church”, “Kyoto”, “The Monsters”, “Bowl EP”, “Glass. Kill. What if it Only. Imp.”, “Lights Out: Nat ‘King’ Cole”, “My Joy is Heavy”, and “The unknown” have also garnered multiple nominations. A total of 41 productions have earned at least one nomination.
Founder and performer of the National Asian American Theatre Company Mia Katigbak will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Composer and lyricist William Finn will be inducted into the Playwrights’ Sidewalk in front of the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Manhattan’s West Village in a posthumous award.
