You name it and there is more than likely an entry in the “Guinness Book of World Records”.

But a Loud Billboard???

New York City residents are used to hearing loud engine noises every day; but recently they were treated to a new sound – the roar of a NASCAR engine on a billboard in Times Square.

The creative billboard earned NASCAR an entry in the “Guinness Book of World Records” for the world’s loudest billboard.

The billboard features a real life sized engine from a  Next Gen Cup Series car.

The engine was custom built in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by 72andSunny in a partnership with Guru House.  Real NASCAR engine builders ECR and HMS were consulted to ensure authenticity.

, NASCAR’s chief brand officer Tim Clark spoke on getting the proclamation saying, “setting a Guinness World Records title is a proud moment for our sport and serves as a bold statement to get the 2026 season started. The billboard puts the visceral energy of NASCAR front and center and invites everyone to experience what makes our sport so unique.”

The “World’s Loudest Billboard” is part of a new campaign for NASCAR – “Hell Yeah” that highlights “

the instinctive, visceral energy that defines the sport”.

NASCAR kicks off their 2026 season with the Daytona 500 on February 15.
