Daily writing prompt
Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

When I was a kid my mother did a great deal of sewing. She made all of my clothes and did some sewing for others including weddings and even a group of majorette costumes.

Somehow she seemed to always get a hold of one of those big pattern books found in fabric stores. We couldn’t afford to buy the books of paper dolls but once she was done with the pattern books, she would give them to me and I would spend hours creating my own paper dolls and their costumes.

I have long since stopped playing with paper dolls.

I grew up watching football and baseball with my dad and am still very interested in watching the games, but when I was younger, I wanted to join in with the boys. Occasionally, daddy would play football with the boys and his friends – he would play quarterback for both sides and once in a while dad would let me hike the ball. These days I would much rather watch the games then try to be a part of them. I am the only girl and just wanted to fit in, but that wasn’t the way to do it.

I’d rather play music, read, or do some art work.
