Two more shows closed last week – “Liberation” and “Mamma Mia!” but went out with a bang at the box office.

With Broadway 2-for-1 continuing, the numbers at the box office were down but the audience attendance is up.  Just eleven shows made it into the Million Dollar Club with 21 shows joining the 90% Club.  The Broadway 2-for-1 deal continues through February 12 where fans can purchase a full priced ticket to one of many shows and receive a ticket of equal value for free.

Mother Nature eased off a bit last week with no significant snow accumulations to cancel shows.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is the only show last week that topped the $2 million mark with Tom Felton continuing in his role of Draco Malfoy.

A record setting season so far, Broadway may see a dip at the box office over the next few weeks, but there are plenty of new shows on the way as the spring season is set to begin soon.
