After the NFL announced that Puerto Rican born artist Grammy Award winning Bad Bunny – who chooses to perform in Spanish – would be the halftime entertainment for Super Bowl LX (60), the ultra-conservative Christian organization Turning Point USA announced that they would be holding an alternate Super Bowl halftime show the All American Halftime Show.
On February 2, Turning Point named their first artists that would be performing at their halftime show – Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett.
Anyone interested in viewing the “Alternate Halftime Show” can find the program on the social media outlets X and Rumble. It will also air on The Daily Wire and Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Turning Point spokesman Andrew Kolvet said the “Th All-American Halftime Show” would, “celebrate faith, family, and freedom.”
Turning Point was not the only one to object to the announcement of Bad Bunny’s performance. The White House also had some negative thoughts saying, ““I’m anti-them (Bad Bunny and Green Day). I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
“American Idol” alum Gabby Barrett has one Billboard Hot 100 hit and two Country Chart Topper hits.
Lee Brice has eight Country music hits.
Brantley Gilbert has five Country music hits.
Kid Rock has one Billboard Hot 100 hit – “Picture” back in 2003.
After the announcement that he would be performing at the Super Bowl; Bad Bunny said, “what I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown…this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
At the 68th annual Grammy Awards on February 1, Bad Bunny is the first artists to win the Album of the Year Award for an album recorded in a non-English language.
