It was a historic night at the 68th annual Grammy Awards on February 1.

“Wicked: For Good” and its actors may have been left off the nominees list for the Academy Awards; but Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were the recipients of the first award presented in the annual pre-Grammy event on Sunday afternoon.

The 15,000 voting members of the Recording Academy that were mentioned when the winners were announced are all music creators – artists, producers, songwriters, engineers, etc.

The Grammy Awards are the only awards for music whose winners are chosen by music industry professionals.
