Ram Trucks and Kaulig Racing are holding a competition to determine who will be the driver for one of the five Ram Trucks entering the Craftsman Truck Series this season.

A total of 15 short track drivers – NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, ARCA Menards Series, CARS Tour and NASCAR’s Weekly Series – have been chosen for the competition in “Race for the Seat”.

Along with the racing, the series will offer a behind the scenes look from the point of view of the drivers as they compete to drive the number 14 truck.

“Race for the Seat” will run on the Ram You Tube channel through February 6 when the driver will be named.

Meet the 15 drivers competing in “Race for the Seat”:
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver Austin Beers who became the youngest champion in the history of the series.

Modified tour driver Mike Christopher Jr is carrying on the family tradition as a racer.  He is the son of Mike Christopher Sr and the nephew of Ted Christoopher.

CARS Tour driver Mini Tyrrell is just 21 years old.

Twins Cody and Casey Kelley are championship drivers in Late Model Stock Cars out of Florence, South Carolina.

Dirt Model champion Carson Ferguson is the first driver to be a champion in Dirt Nationals, Asphalt Nationals and Road Course World Finals in a Legends car.

Late Model Stock driver Kade Brown is a champion driver at Hickory and Florence.

Vintage car racer Ryan Gemmell drives in the ARCA Menards Series and is a road course expert.

Chase Burrow is a Late Model Stocks and CARS Tour driver.

Jonathan Cash has competed in Late Model Stocks, ARCA Menards Series East and USAR Pro Cup Series.

Tanner Reif and younger brother Tyler (not in the competition) have signed with Neice Motorsports Craftsman Truck Series program with both looking to make the cut.

Landon Huffman is the son of five time NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series champion Robert Huffman.  Landon is looking to keep the family tradition going.

Midwest driver Grant Griesbach drives in Super Late Model and Midwest Truck Series.

Short track driver Jared Fryar is a two time CARS Tour champion along with Carson Kvapil.

Trevor Ward is a Late Model Stocks driver.

In the debut episode, the drivers were introduced and ran their first race – in Legend cars. 

The 15 drivers have been divided in to three groups of five drivers.  The fastest drivers will be in the R group, the mid-drivers will be in the A group, and the slowest drivers will be in the M group.

Drivers can move up and down in groups depending on how they perform each week.
