Seeing the writing on the wall…or building as the case may be…”South Park” writer Toby Morton purchased a domain name several months ago – trumpkennedycenter.org!

On Thursday afternoon the loyalist board for the Kennedy Center voted to change the name of the Kenned Center – a name that was voted by Congress in 1964 as a memorial to assassinated President John Fitzgerald Kennedy – adding the name of the current White House resident.

Wasting no time, on Friday morning workers began adding the new letters to the building’s name.

But they will have to continue to use the website name kennedycenter.org or change the designation from org to something else since Toby Morton has beaten them to the punch.

Morton plans on using the domain for satirical purposes.  Morton said, “as soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building.”

In fact, after watching the events unfold over several months when the hostile takeover took place in February, Morton purchased trumpkennedycenter.org and trumpkennedycenter.com in August.

Obtaining domain names is a simple process and rather inexpensive; however, if someone wants that name, then the cost could be very pricey and turn a tidy profit.

But Morton isn’t looking to sell any of his numerous websites; he plans to use them for legitimate sites of satire and parody.

On what he plans to do with his newest purchases, Morton is saying yet; just that, “it’ll absolutely reflect the absurdity of the moment. Lots of surprises. Some things are truly hard to parody, though.”

He adds, “The Kennedy Center has always been a cultural institution meant to outlast any one administration or personality.  It’s meant to honor culture, not ego. Once it was treated like personal branding, satire became unavoidable.”

This season of “South Park” has concentrated on current events by the current administration with particular members of the admin playing prominent roles in the show.

Morton also owns NancyMace26.com; MTG2026.org, and ResignChuck.com.

Morton notes that no one from the current administration of Trumpworld has contacted him about purchasing the domain names.

Morton admits that he has never actually been to The Kennedy Center but would love to see just about anything there…except “in practice, I’m not sure my interests currently align with what would be considered appropriate programming.”

But, he adds, “I may check back, after the next rebrand.”
