Billionaire Bill Koch will be putting up several of his American West artworks up for auction.

Christie’s  Auction House “Vision of the West” will be an in person event beginning January 20 in their New York City house.  They expect the collection to bring in at least $50 million.

The collection up for auction include works by Frederic Remington, Charles Marion Russell and Albert Bierstadt

Christie’s American Art Department head Tylee Abbott noted that interest in western American art has remained strong.

Bill Koch spoke on his interest in art depicting the American West saying, “I was born and raised in Kansas and spent childhood summers working on my father’s ranches in Montana and Texas.”

Pieces up for auction include:
16 sculptures by Remington including a small and large “Bronco Buster”
“Coming to the Call” by Remington
“The Sun Worshippers” by Russell
mountain and plains vistas by Bierstadt
