The post season Silly Season has much more than drivers changing teams this year. There are a number of teams who are changing car manufacturers this season.
Kaulig Racing has joined the Craftsman Truck Series with the newly entered Ram Trucks; fielding five trucks in the series.
The Haas Factory Team has moved from Ford to Chevrolet beginning with the 2026 season.
And now Rick Ware Racing has announced that they will also be moving from a Ford to a Chevrolet with a multi-year deal and a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing.
The new alliance will allow RCR will also allow Rick Ware to use ECR engines.
Cody Ware will continue to drive the number 51 car for RWR.
Team owner Rick Ware spoke on the change via a press release saying, “Chevrolet has always set a high bar with its people, its performance and its passion for racing, and partnering with them gives us the resources and support to make real progress on the race track. Teaming up with RCR and ECR provides a foundation we can build on, not just for 2026, but for the future of our race team. We’re proud to be part of the Chevrolet family.”
Along with fielding vehicles in all three of the NASCAR Series, Rick Ware Racing has numerous IMSA endurance races and wins including the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, NHRA Top Fuel cars, and CARS Tour Pro Late Model Series.
Ricke Ware added, “the NASCAR Cup Series is the toughest and most competitive series in motorsports, and this is an important move for the long-term growth of our company. We’ve won in NHRA, American Flat Track, World Supercross and the CARS Tour, and we want to elevate our NASCAR performance to the level of our other programs.”

Bringing RWR into the Chevrolet fold is a win for all of us. Their drive to keep improving aligns with our dedication to performance and innovation.”
