What’s your favorite cartoon?

When I was a kid, the black and white TV was in the same room with the piano. The piano that my dad used to teach for three hours every Saturday morning.

So, we watched Saturday morning cartoons in silence…or rather to the sound of bad piano playing.

On the rare occasion that we got to have the sound on, Bugs Bunny was always a big hit. We were getting a classical music education and didn’t even know it. My favourite cartoon episode was “Rabbit of Seville” to Rossini’s “Barber of Seville”.

But one of the best cartoons to watch with no sound was the “Pink Panther”

After lunch, my dad said it was time for his cartoon – professional wrestling! 🙂

I remember one afternoon at my dad’s house three generations of us were watching Bugs Bunny and laughing our heads off at the antics.

Bugs Bunny and his cohorts Elmer Fudd, Wylie Coyote, and the Road Runner are timeless classics that span generations.

Animated feature films and television series are a big part of the industry today that once belonged to the younger generation. But it was those early days of Saturday morning cartoons that paved the way for the animated world of today.
