Australian rockers AC/DC gave a whole new meaning to rock the house when they played their first concert in their homeland in 10 years.
The show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 12 was a sellout but fans over five miles away reported that they could hear the music!
Between the excessive volume coming through the speakers and the vibrations of the fans stomping and clapping along; the earthquake meters at the Seismology Research Centre were set off!
Called the Power Up tour, AC/DC brought the power with their music. Chief scientist of the Seismology Research Centre Adam Pascale reported there were vibrations in the two to five hertz range at their Richmond office some three and a half kilometres distance – over two miles away.
Reports came into the Australian Broadcasting Company that residents 10 kilometres away – six miles – could hear the music; even a few reports from Hawthorn – a suburb away from the stadium – reported that they could also hear the music.
The remaining dates of the AC/DC Australia dates:
Nov 21 & 25 at the Accord Stadium in Sydney
Nov 30 at the Grand Final in Adelaide
Dec 4 & 8 at the Optus Stadium in Perth
Dec 14 & 18 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane
