What is your favorite place to go in your city?

I don’t really have just ONE favourite place but rather a couple of place – one inside and one outside.

Although I have to admit that since Covid I have not been to my inside place very much; even though I am closer to it now.

I am a big fan of the local Hard Rock Cafe. It is a great place for me to work and before the onset of Covid I was at the Hard Rock Cafe at least once a week…usually two or three.

Each Tuesday, I would go and spend a couple of hours writing….and munching on their awesome tortilla chips – they make their own chips! The music in the background helped to spark my creativity and I could knock out a few articles in those couple of hours. I could never study or work in the library…it was too quiet…I need music to help my brain work. Wanted to find me in college???, check the local eating establishment just outside of campus. I could usually be found with books, notebooks, and food at a table studiously working away.

Most Friday or Saturday evenings…and sometimes both…I would be at the Hard Rock to cover a show – mostly local bands. Walking around the room several times in a three hour stint, I would come home with hundreds of photos to sift through.

Since Covid, I have not been there very often, it seems like I spend nearly all of my time at home. Truth be told, I love going there but I always ended up spending much more than I would hope to make – one cent per 1,100 page views doesn’t buy much.

I really should try to get back there more often. Now that tourist season is over, there will be plenty of places to sit; although I am usually at the end of the bar. The servers and bartender knew exactly what I wanted without me having to say a word.

And if I want a hamburger, I won’t go to a fast food joint, I want one from the Hard Rock Cafe.

As for the outside place, I always enjoy it when I can get down to the park and the Falls. Another place I always come home with a bit pile of photos – or digital card these days.

Since my move, I am only four blocks away from the park, but life seems to get in the way and I don’t get down there as much as I would like either. Incidentally, the Hard Rock Cafe is across the street from Niagara Falls State Park.
