Kevin Bacon believes there are six degrees of separation between each of us.  But when it comes to music that number quickly shrinks.

Whether it be as a listener, creator, or player; music brings us all together.

Music is the greatest drug in the world, and best of all it isn’t bad for you…and frequently free!

Nowhere was this more evident than at the annual Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 12 at the Bear’s Den Showroom in the Seneca Niagara Casino Resort.

Each of the new inductees spoke on the importance of music in all of our lives.

As host Harold Simon said, out lives would be pretty dull without music. (but, we won’t talk about THAT game!)

Hall of Fame member Lew Custode with partner Steve Parisi opened the ceremonies with a performance.

Throughout the night, many of the inductees gave a performance after accepting their plaques.

Ned Green was the only posthumous inductee; but his sister Priscilla gave a moving performance of “Stand By Me” with a spiritual twist that had the crowd clapping along.

Christina Custode gave an emotional acceptance speech but noted, no matter what happens, the music never lets you down.  And sat down at the piano for a joyous performance.

Along with Custode and Green; Randy Andropolis, Tonio DiPaolo, Tim Donahue – who sent a message of thanks all the way from Japan – Scott Nichols, Ed Roscitti, Eddy Tabone, Sr, Paul Yates, and the band Penelope were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Eddy Tabone Jr with Eric Rovner, Brian Beaudry, John Gibbon, Brian Berhalter, and Vin Cuddahee; Paul Yates with Shannon Street, Jack Prybylski, Van Taylor, and Shawn Duchsherer; and the original members of Penelope – Bob Serianni, Bob Isaacs, Rich Delzoppo, Fracassi, Russ Previte, Joe Rotella, and Brian Young all gave performances during the ceremonies.
