Muppet Diva Miss Piggy has longed for a starring role on Broadway.
Currently she is a part of Rob Lake’s Magic Show along with her fellow Muppets.
Broadway scuttlebutt has it that “Oh, Mary!” created and Tony Award winner Cole Escola are collaborating on a feature film. On the “Las Cultaristas” podcast, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she and Emma Stone are producing a feature film that will star the Diva. Escola is reportedly writing the screenplay for the film.
It was Escola themselves that brought up the topic of making “Oh, Mary!” into a film with Miss Piggy in the starring role.
No further details are currently available, but there have been numerous rumours of new Muppet projects over the years with Miss Piggy’s name at the top of the list.
