Last week 32 shows ran on Broadway with the addition of the revival of “Chess” which despite playing only four shows earned a spot in the Million Dollar Club.
“Chess” is the latest Broadway production to land some top named stars with Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher.
With Leslie Odom Jr reviving his original role as Aaron Burr, the musical “Hamilton” continues to top the list with box office draws near the $4 million mark. Odom will be leaving the role late next month when he will embark on his holiday tour.
Last week saw a new lead character in “Oh, Mary!” when Jane Krakowski joined the cast and the show continues to see a lively box office
While the actors and musician’s unions continued to negotiate new contracts, theater goers filled the houses with a combined 91% capacity and over $38 million at the box office.
There were 19 shows in the Million Dollar Club last week with the top three shows bringing in over $2 million.

“Just in Time” continued to top the list in the 90% Club with a standing room only crowd of over 103% and a whopping eleven shows had an audience capacity of at least 100! Twenty-two of the 32 running shows made in the 90% Club last week.
