Less than two weeks after naming Andy Street as the crew chief for the Richard Childress Racing number eight car driven by Kyle Busch, RCR has named Jim Pohlman as the crew chief for the number eight car.
However, Street will stay on as crew chief for the remaining three races of the season. Pohlman will take over the job beginning with the 2026 season. Street was named as a replacement for Randall Burnett who left RCR to become the crew chief for Connor Zilisch at Trackhouse Racing next season when the Xfinity Series rookie phenom moves up to the Cup Series to drive the number 99 car.
Pohlman formerly worked with RCR as the head of research and development.
Currently, Pohlman is the crew chief for the Xfinity Series JR Motorsports number seven car driven by reigning Series champion Justin Allgaier.
