Spoiler Alert!
The Opera Ghost has returned but this time around he has lots of company as the immersive musical “Masquerade” presents six shows a night with six sets of stars of the show.
With an official opening this week, the show has taken over the entire building to build a replica of the Paris Opera House – four floors…and the roof…to put on the show. An audience member gets invited to dance as a part of the show, or one of the characters may speak directly to you, or even have one of the characters touch your shoulder.
When he announced his return the Opera Ghost asked that everyone dress in black, white, or silver formal wear and said to wear comfortable walking shoes (no heels). The secret is out – the show includes walking and standing. However, anyone with special needs are well cared for with their own guide – just contact the box office ahead of time.
But there is something new even for the most avid “Phantom” phan; a new backstory and music are a part of the story; which also has been a little rearranged and a few modifications to stage design and costumes.
But the timeless story of Gaston LeReaux’s “Phantom of the Opera” lives on.
