Back for its regularly scheduled date (same Bat time, same Bat channel), the weekly Broadway Grosses has some good news for Broadway.

Long running productions routinely have different actors take over the roles; and in the case of “Oh, Mary!” that rotation has seen a number of starring actors during the course of the run.  The most recent “Mary” was drag queen Jinkx Monsoon who sold out EVERY performance!  And in brought in some of the highest box office draws since playwright and original Mary left the role in June.

The two time “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner has appeared in several productions over the past few years to become a “Bonafide Broadway star”.

Whether it be “Chicago”, “Pirates: The Penzance Musical”, or “Oh, Mary!” Monsoon has given the box office a kick with every performance.

Overall the box office draw dropped last week after Broadway Week ended and the Jewish New Year holiday of Rosh Hashanah occurred early in the week to bring in just under $31 million.

Leslie Odom Jr is proving to be a major boost in his own right with “Hamilton” bringing in over $3 million last week to top the Million Dollar Club.  “Hamilton” and “Wicked” were the only two of the 13 productions in the Million Dollar Club to top the million dollar mark.

“Ragtime” opened to previews with just three shows last week.
