The Broadway box office report came in a little late this week due to the Jewish New Year holiday of Rosh Hashanah.
Rumours of holding the report as a bargaining tactic are NOT true!
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have found success on Broadway with “Waiting for Godot” which brought in nearly $2 million last week.
Getting started with its second decade on Broadway with a week of over $3 million to top the list in the Million Dollar Club. Filling out the top five are “the usual suspects” – “Wicked”, “The Lion King”, and “Mamma Mia!”.
“Art” had only three performances last week while the show’s stars were busy filming other projects. But having been open for less than two weeks, the show is still a large number of comped tickets.
Despite the final week of Broadway’s buy-one-get-one deals, box office receipts were higher.
