It was a big week for Broadway productions last week after Leslie Odom Jr returned to “Hamilton” and bringing in nearly double the next highest show.

And Broadway added a new show last week when the revival of “Waiting for Godot” opened starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.  The show gave just one performance last week and packed the house.

There was a 20% increase in the box office last week despite it being Broadway Week where theater goers can get a buy one-get one offer for many of the shows.  New shows also mean heavily comped tickets as members of the press get in to see and critique the shows.

Just a reminder, next week is the final week for the revival of “Cabaret” which will be closing on September 21.

There were 14 of the 28 shows running last week that made it into the Million Dollar Club with the top two shows surpassing the $2 million mark.
