Following in the footsteps of Sir Rod Stewart’s footsteps…so to speak…Boz Scaggs is releasing his first album in seven years on October 17. “Detour” is an album of standards from the Great American Songbook.
Scaggs spoke on the album saying, “I had no intention of making a record when I started singing these song. It was all very casual at first, just an opportunity to explore a style of music I’ve always liked, to get together with a friend (pianist Seth Asarnow) and play for the sheer joy of it.”
Speaking on himself Scaggs added, “if I look at myself as a musician over the years, I’d have to consider my primary instrument to be my voice.”
And on the same day as the album is released, Boz Scaggs begins a tour around the United States.
