Looking for some fun this summer?
New York City’s Broadway has the answer on how to cool off on those hot summer days and have some fun at the same time.
Among the some 30 shows currently running and the on tour are 10 jukebox musicals to get you singing along with the cast and plenty of chair dancing too.
“Mamma Mia” is based on the music of the Swedish pop group ABBA. A big hit the first time around, the show has returned this summer for a revival.
Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons put on a show in “Jersey Boys” that shows there is much to the New York neighbour than gossip, beach parties, and gambling.
A national tour has been announced but no dates have been set.
“&. Juliet” presents a new twist on the William Shakespeare classic “Romeo and Juliet”: filled with modern pop tunes, Juliet is an “ultra modern pop girl”.
Currently on tour, “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical” tells the story of. The Rock and Roll Hall Fame artist and shows that Diamond did much more than make “Sweet Caroline” a hit.
“MJ The Musical” is centered around Jackson’s “Dangerous” tour, but goes much further by showcasing Jackson’s talent as a dancer, songwriter, and entertainer. The musical is filled with some of Jackson’s biggest hits and can currently be seen on Broadway and on tour.
“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” made its Broadway debut in 2019 but keeps the show fresh with a regular rotation of new hit songs…and cast members. The musical may have been inspired by the 2001 film, but the comparison ends there.

Also on a national tour, “Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations” follows the story of how a group of men took “race music” during the Civil Rights era and helped to turn it into a powerhouse genre and record company.
Still running on Broadway and on tour, “Hell’s Kitchen” is the life and early times of Alicia Keys. The show not only features Keys’ music, but a number of songs created especially for the musical.
The newest musical to hit the Broadway stage is “Just in Time” is more of a concert than a show featuring the music of rockabilly artist Bobby Darin who brought the world hit songs like “Splish Splash” and “Mac the Knife”. Jonathan Goff takes on the role of Darin.
