In its 50 year history, Florida southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd has had more than their share of triumph and tragedy including the death of several members.

In 2022, the rockers played their last performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium with original member Gary Rossington.

Celebrating 50 years of music, the rockers have released “Celebrating 50 Years – Live at the Ryman”.  The album includes a number of special guests including Jelly Roll, Brent Smith of Shinedown, John Osborne of The Brothers Osborne, Marcus King, and Donnie Van Zant of 38 Special.

Johnny Van Zant spoke on the album saying, “50 years for Lynyrd Skynyrd… WOW  We are so grateful to the devoted fans for their support throughout the years of transitions and losses. Last year we lost the great Mr. Gary Rossington. We unknowingly were able to have captured his final performance with us. It’s bittersweet but what a special place to have had his final performance, the mother ship of music – The Ryman Auditorium!”

He added, “it was a very special night with incredibly talented guest as we honored the iconic musicality of Skynyrd.  We are so grateful to the Ryman and to all of those have work so hard to make this project become a reality! This will forever be a keepsake in our hearts, and we are so happy to be able to share it with our Skynyrd Nation.”

“Celebrating 50 Years – Live at The Ryman” is available in DVD, CD, and as a digital download.
