After the race this weekend in Atlanta, there are just eight races remaining in the regular season for the Cup Series drivers with 12 of the 16 playoff spots filled with winning drivers.

William Byron got the season started with a win in the Daytona 500.

Then Christopher Bell went on a tear and racked up the next three races in a row at Atlanta Motor Speedway – now Echo Park Speedway, the road course at COTA -Circuit of the Americas, and the spring race at Phoenix.

Josh Berry earned his first career win driving for the Wood Brothers at las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kyle Larson earned his first win of the season in south Florida at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Denny Hamlin took the next two races on the Paperclip of Martinsville Speedway and he tamed the Lady in Black at Darlington Raceway.

Kyle Larson earned win number two on the high banked short track of Bristol Motor Speedway.

Austin Cindric earned his win on the Superspeedway at Talladega.

Reigning Cup Series champion took home the Six Shooters trophy at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Melon Man smashed one in NASCAR’s backyard when he won the longest race of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Ryan Blaney made it a clean sweep for Team Penske when he joined teammates Austin Cindric and Joey Logano in Victory Lane when he won at Nashville Superspeedway.

Denny Hamlin earned race win number three of the season in the Irish Hills at Michigan International Speedway.

Making it a truly international weekend, NASCAR travels to Mexico City where Mexican born races Daniel Suarez earns the win in the Xfinity Series and New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen wins on the road course race at at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Chase Briscoe conquered the “Tricky Triangle” at Pocono Raceway to earn his first Cup Series win.

And the Sireen rings out in Dawsonville after Chase Elliott was just one of four cars with no damage after the wild ride that was the Quaker State 400 at Echo Park Speedway.

With his Atlanta win, Chase Elliott broke a 44 race winless streak; but there are other drivers who are just as anxious to break some long streaks of their own.  Could the playoff grid be filled with race winners by the time the season ends in Daytona?  Only four spots remain with eight races to go.
