Each year when the award nominations come out, there is a great deal of speculation over who got “snubbed”. The Motion Academy of Arts and Sciences had deemed it time to rectify some of those “snubs” with Honourary Oscars to commemorate the extraordinary careers and commitment to our filmmaking community continue to leave a lasting impact” of Tom cruise, Dolly Parton, Debbie Allen, and Wynn Thomas.

Tom Cruise who already owns two “Guinness Book of World Records” entries for his doing his own stunt work has according to the Academy “inspired us all with his incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunts community.”
Earning four nominations, he was never an Oscar winner, Cruise has been a part of several films that have earned well over $100 million at the box office.

For nearly 50 years, Debbie Allen has acted danced, and sung her way films, theatre, and television; including choreographing seven Academy Awards ceremonies. She has earned six Emmy Awards for her television appearances, but no Oscars.
Wynn Thomas has done a great deal of work with Spike Lee as a production designer and went on to work with Eddie Murphy, Robert Townsend, “Hidden Figures”, and “A Beautiful Mind”.

Among her numerous awards, Dolly Parton cab add the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her Humanitarian work. The Academy noted that Parton, “exemplifies the spirit of the Hersholt award through her unwavering dedication to charitable efforts.”
The quartet will receive their honours on November 16 as a part of the annual Governors Awards.
