After the Indianapolis 500 on May 25, three teams failed post race inspection including second place driver Marcus Ericsson. All three of the drivers had their finishing positions disqualified and were dropped to the bottom of the field.
Andretti Global drivers Marcus Ericsson and Kyle Kirkwood were charged with illegal modifications made to their Energy Management System covers.
The Prema Racing number 90 car driven by Callum Ilott was charged with not meeting the minimum endplate height and location specification.
In the days prior to the race, two of the Team Penske cars were charged with illegal adjustments to the cars and were sent to the back of the field to start the race.
Prior to the infractions Ericsson had finished in second place, Kirkwood finished sixth, and Ilott finished 12th. After the infractions Ericsson was placed in 31st, Kirkwood was placed in 32nd, and Ilott was placed in 33rd.
A.J. Foyt Racing driver David Malukas is now listed as the second place driver behind first time Indy winner Alex Palou.
The penalized drivers also must forfeit their points and money earned.
